Universities accept a wide variety of UK-based and overseas qualifications. The most common qualifications people apply with would be A levels, which I'd be surprised if any sixth form didn't offer. Other commonly accepted qualifications are Pearson BTEC Nationals (BTECs), Cambridge Technicals (CTECs), T Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), and the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Access to HE).

When you say, "i’m not sure if i can get the necessary qualifications there i need to get into any universities". What qualification can you get at your sixth form?

Great. A levels are accepted at every UK university (as far as I'm aware) and BTECs are accepted for most courses at most universities.

Note, however, that the subject(s) matter too. Studying A levels in History, English and Music won't do you any good if your hope is to study Medicine at uni, for example. :wink:

If you have a particular degree course in mind, then check what qualifications / subjects they expect before deciding what to study at sixth form or college.

i’ve looked at the minimum requirements for the courses and unis i want to go to and i’ve decided im going to take all 3 sciences (physics biology and chemistry) in sixth form unless you think a different course would be better for forensic science

Those subjects are fine - and well done for checking what subjects your target unis would be happy with. :smile:

Do you think you can do well in them?

Excellent. Then they're good subject to do a A level - both because they're relevant for the course you want to pursue and because you do well in them. :smile:

okay thanks one last question how much UCAS points is an A level worth?

okay thanks one last question how much UCAS points is an A level worth?

It depends on the grade you get.

A* = 56 points
A = 48 points
B = 40 points
C = 32 points
D = 24 points
E = 16 points

You can use the UCAS Tariff Calculator to calculate the points for a wide variety of qualifications, and combinations of qualifications.
