ALEVEL OPTIONS! please help a y11 in need!!!!!!!!!!

I'm currently in y11 picking my alevel options for 2025-2027! I have 4 options in mind : maths , chemistry , computer science and economics! my predicted grades for maths , chem and cs are : 878

(if you want to request any schools , i am situated in the west london area)

Anyways i have three questions:
- how are these alevels - are they entertaining , interesting and good for the future ?
- should i consider picking 4 ? because i want to do computer science and chemistry but for some schools i have to pick between the subjects ( if i do 3 alevels).
- how is the work load??

(this is entirely my personal opinion)

If you have to pick between computer science and chemistry I would definitely pick chemistry. No university courses really require computer science but some will ask for chemistry! I definitely think it's a nice combination of A Levels though (just personal opinion, I had a friend do it). Maths is definitely good for the future and I quite like Economics myself so I find it interesting but can't say whether you will. I do 4 A Levels and find the workload manageable but that's only because 2 of my A Levels are Maths and Further Maths, maybe you could start off with 4 and drop one depending on how you're finding the workload. 4 A Levels can definitely be tough.
They're a good combination! Pick 4, then drop one if it's too much.

Workload? CS has coursework, but honestly, its fine as u did it for gcse (as well as content).

school suggestions:

don't go to William morris

sacred heart - girls school

cardinal Vaughn (tho catholic)

gunnersbury

If i enjoy both chemistry and computer science which do i choose? because I do want to get into the technology industry but i dont want my love for chemistry to go to waste !!!

I am currently studying a level maths and chem. I would say that if you are confident in maths it never gets too crazy it’s just a lot to remember. Also, most universities highly regard maths a level. With chemistry it is a little trickier than maths but it is a very interesting subject and the practical element is fun too. I

However, if you are looking to study a science at uni I would highly recommend you take maths, the science you want to study and another science subject (can be a social science). This could even get you a lowered offer at some unis

Definitely chemistry as technology has a massive part in it. You also learn science aswell which I think is a plus

the subjects you pick really depend on what field you want to go into in the future. if you have trouble deciding between the 4, pick them all and drop the one you feel isn't going to work out for you over the course of the 2 years, just remember 4 alevels is a lot and will quickly become unnecessarily overwhelming . Maths is one of my options and I'm feeling pretty good about it for now, just bear in mind there is also an applied maths paper, which is abit more physics-y (might sound obvious but I didn't know about this going into year 12 lol). the workload for alevels is definitely a big step up from GCSEs, dont fall under the impression that because there's fewer subjects, it will be less work and easier to study for.

in terms of school suggestions, i would say woodhouse and the UCL academy are solid options. dont go to Barnet southgate college!! especially not as someone who is predicted high grades.

i hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions

i personally would choose chemistry! maths is the most important subject for something techy and chemistry gives you a bit of flexibility in case you realise you want to pursue something different. computer science a level isn't really super useful (i say this as someone who is doing it).
