How many sources should I use my EPQ

Hi
I’m aiming for a A* in my EPQ and I’m currently writing my first draft but I’m not sure how many sources I need to refer to. If anyone has an answer even if it’s vague it’d be greatly appreciated.

Hey,
I got 50/50 in my EPQ, and I used a lot of sources.. 72 to be exact.

That said, it was science based, and many of these sources were just me pulling statistics to support my arguments. And, I referred to about 30 in my essay, as many weren’t useful.

If its humanities, you could definitely use less.

Overall though, its about the quality of your sources - if they don’t add anything to your essay, don’t use them. It’s better to get a lot out of 15-20 sources, than pretending 50 relate to your project.

Write about the unhelpful ones in your production log and say that finding useful sources was important as many weren’t helpful to your essay - this will pick up marks in the production log section!

Hope that helps!

My question is on philosophy with the question of “is rebellion essential to human existence as suggested by Albert Camus”

then yeah i think 10-15 sources, with 10 being really strong + useful will be ok as yours will mostly be books/journals etc - some by Camus, and some by others that might juxtapose your argument, or articles that discuss a similar idea.
