will unis revisit my application if i get a higher IB score than predicted?

My school is a newer IB school and they dont realise how the markbounds for the final exams work. Because of this many teachers lower grades than what the student is worth and sadly this applies to two of my subjects. The teachers gave me 37 points but i think i am easily able to get 40 in my case. Is there a chance that universities will revisit my application once i give the final grades?

When you apply, universities will look at your predicted grades (and all the other information you have provided) and decide whether or not to make you a conditional offer. If your predicted grades are close to the grade requirements of the course for which you're applying, then they might decide to make you a conditional offer anyway (as they know predicted grades are not always accurate). However, equally, they might not.

If they opt not to make you a conditional offer, then they won't do anything with your application once your actual grades are ready. They won't even receive your actual grades. However, if there is space left on the course, then they might make the course available via UCAS Clearing - which is where candidates without a place can apply for courses which still have places.

Sadly most universities in the UK wont revisit your application, but it might be different in other countries! It is probably better to than wait a year and reapply with your IB diploma grades.
