Hands cramping during exams

I have a lot of essay subjects where I'm writing for 2 and a half hours straight during exams. I also have quite flimsy wrists so my hand gets quite painful during exams and sometimes is about to cramp. Does anyone know what I can do to prevent this? Would compression gloves help?
I used to get cramps in my hands when writing due to tics and what helped me was just stretching out my hands between questions whilst i was thinking so they didnt cramp up

Would it be possible to ask someone at your school about using a word processor for exams instead? I used compression gloves when I suffered from joint and wrist pain and it did help quite a bit but I'm not sure how helpful it would be for preventing cramping. Also if you do get compression gloves make sure they're not too tight as otherwise it's a little hard to bend your fingers when you're writing.

Hi, I use a computer in examinations because my handwriting is (a) slow, and (b) messy. The cramping is pretty bad (I get it even in subjects like maths), but I guess I eventually learnt to deal with it.

Anyway, the reasons my handwriting is like this is due to a minor disorder - the learning support at my school had 'figured this out,' which eventually allowed me to use a computer in exams. It's probably a good idea to at least speak to someone at your school about this and complete the tests - you might be eligible for a word processer in examinations, which could be a huge help!

As for dealing with the cramps, I'm not too sure, sorry :frown:
