UCAS : Help, please ! What to do with the predicted grades section ?

Hi,
Last minute panic on UCAS.
My referee is supposed to enter the predicted grades but with what deadline ?
And does the predicted grades section require any action from me as an applicant ?

Thank you if you can help me before the deadly deadline.

Hi @jacegan,

Your referee is responsible for entering your predicted grades, and the deadline for them to complete their reference is the same as your UCAS application deadline, which is on the 29th January 2025 as shown on their website. You, as the applicant, don’t need to take any action in the predicted grades section, from what I know. Just make sure you’ve submitted your application on time so your referee can add their part. If they’re cutting it close, just remind them of the deadline and what is needed from them Good luck!

Thanks a lot. But do I have to put my qualifications as "pending" such that my referee will be technically able to fill in predicted grades ?

Hi @jacegan,

Yes, that’s correct! You’ll need to list your qualifications as ‘pending’ on your UCAS application for exams you haven’t taken yet. This signals to your referee that they need to input predicted grades for those qualifications. If you’ve already done that, your referee should be able to add predictions without any issues. If you’re unsure, it’s worth double-checking with them to confirm everything is in place!

Thank you, I'm connected to UCAS right now : so, in the grade box, I type "Pending", is that right ?

No, you leave the box blank. Your ref will be prompted to enter a prediction for anything you've listed with a future award date.

OK, that was the painpoint I was trying to figure out.
It is all clear, now. Thanks a lot.
