It seems to me to be so hard to tell. Even on these threads- there are thousands and thousands of students that attend and the reality is, if you really think about it, almost no one writes- it is the smallest most minuscule amount of posts/posters. To me that is a good sign- people are too busy living their lives. I think it is a big University and there is so much there but you have to get it for yourself- no handholding. I personally know former grads that say it was the best time of their lives.
Because they prioritise research at the cost of teaching, that is what all the big dogs do. Go on to the complete university guide and list the rankings in terms of student satisfaction; Loughborough the highest (kinda big dog) starts in 14th.

I’ll be 21 when I go this year, so definitely not expecting handholding. I mix pretty well with people as long as there’s opportunities for it. Are the seminars large groups or smaller? Would I stand out at all being 21? Ik 17yr olds are undergrads at Edi
