Can I still get into medicine?

I got pretty mediocre grades at gcse and was just curious if I still have a chance. I got mainly 7s, 2 8s and a 6 in math.

Absolutely, research which unis you want to go to and see how they treat GCSEs, maybe emailing them if you’re still unsure. But your GCSEs are definitely good enough for it

I cannot speak with experience myself so definitely do your research however. From the time I've spent looking into this most definitely, you meet all the minimum grade needed for medicine in the UK. Gcse will be the weaker part of your application however you can find strength in other areas eg , personal statement, etc curricular.

yes you can get in. just apply to universities where gcses are min requirements/not scaled. it may work out with some universities that weigh gcses, but it depends on past statistics with each university

that is still very good, well done. yes you are defo able to get into medicine just strategically apply, which means don't apply to unis that put weight on gcses like aston which uses a point scoring system focusing on gcses. you defo have a shot, if you are doing ucat this year, work hard for that and try aim highly with atleast 2800 and you should be fine, dont worry. theres a strategic application document for each year, with ucat cut offs, application and interview details so you can look at that and it'll really help.

here is this years document!!! it might help.

Yes I think your grades meet the requirements for most university's. Im pretty sure people have gotten into medicine with lower grades too. Dont prevent your self from applying and I would recommend strengthening other aspects of your application too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound like you are too set on medicine, these will be good enough grades but you'll need much more to get into medicine.
If you do decide to pursue it, you'll need to get work experience, volunteering, spend your summer revising to get a good score in the ucat and then do well in an interview. After that you'll have to get through medical school and then pass speciality exams while actively working as a doctor to become a consultant.
I don't want to scare you off, but if you aren't fully sure, if you are in it just for the money, there are much easier jobs that make a whole lot more money than you would as a doctor.
Best of luck!
