It depends on which of the four units we're talking about. As there are four units involved, we're talking about a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Science (worth the equivalent of one A level).

The largest unit is Unit 3 (Science Investigation Skills), so your grade in that will have the largest impact on your overall grade. Next come Unit 1 (Principles and Applications of Science I) and Unit 2 (Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques). The smallest unit (with the least impact) will be the optional unit, which will have a unit number of between 8 and 16.

So which unit did you get the Pass in? Also, which optional unit did you do?

Finally, for the exam-based units (Unit 1 and Unit 3), do you have any way of establishing how well you did (other than just the grade). Sometimes people know their actual mark, or the points they were awarded, of know that they "almost got a distinction", etc. Oddly for the exam-based unit, it's not just the grade which counts, so any additional information you have like this can be useful in determining your overall grade.
