How to write faster

Hey guys, do any of you take an essay subject for Alevels?
I was wondering if there are any tips for writing faster in essays!
(My handwriting is already very small and I don’t try to write neatly at all.)
I would greatly appreciate any insights from anyone😊 Thank you

really good practical tip- tape 2 or 3 batteries to your pen when you do practice essays at home- and try to write at your normal speed- when you take the batteries off in exams, you hadn should fly off the page! doesn't alwasywork but it did for me xx

Have you tried seeing if you could get a word processor for exams? I did that and it was a lifesaver. Of course that does depend on your typing ability etc., but it may be worth considering if you haven't already

Do you mean batteries attached to where you hold the pen to make it thicker or just on the end to make it heavier?

I think they mean to weigh it down more. The idea is that if you practice with it being heavier and harder to move, by the time you try to write for real, it should be much easier to write quickly because it seems like less effort than you're used to

Hey there,

Nice to meet you! My name is Siobhan and I’m a third-year student at the University of Central Lancashire. 🙂 I remember when I did essay based subjects at A-Level and honestly I get the struggle! One thing that I fodun helped me was remembering and practicing phrases to open paragraphs and to link stuff together so I didn't have to think about what to start with and used up less time in my essay. It seems silly but once you get the hang of it, it really does help timing wise.

Also, invest in a good pen. One that you can write easily with but not one that smudges!! In exams i'm pretty sure that it has to be black ink too so keep that in mind

Hope this helps and good luck with your exams! Let me know if i can help in any other way 🙂
