Frustrated about feeling behind other people my age

I'm turning 18 in less than a month and I've been starting to feel really frustrated about my failure to get driving lessons and watching people who turned 17 after me get them seemingly effortlessly. I've also never had a job so I feel like I'm useless and haven't been able to achieve anything in sixth form. Has anyone else ever experienced anything similar?

Chill out, people are starving to death right now and you care this much about other people getting driving lessons before you.
If you feel so useless, go out and get a job or alternatively, start studying hard and get good grades at 6th form.

I'm turning 18 soon too and I haven't had a job yet either
I also recently had a mock exam result and it wasn't exactly the best of results (below my predicted grade), and I haven't really performed up to my school's expected standards (it makes me feel like a failure as I haven't really been able to achieve things as good as anyone else in my year group)
I know how you feel 🙏

If it helps at all, im about to turn 19 and can't drive yet and am not currently taking lessons even though most people around me can. Just got to try and realise that everyone does things at different rates and that doesnt mean that anyone is ahead or behind another, we just all have our own pace. Try not to worry about it too much. Also you are in control of your life, if you feel useless and like you want to be achieving more whilst in sixth form then the only person who can do that is yourself so if you want to be doing something more then go for it! Hope this helps

You can join job agencies at your local town centre to find jobs.

There are many many pathways to a career or success and you're still very very young.

Yes, I think no matter what you have at any age you are always going to compare yourself to others who have more and done more and feel left behind but I think it is important to realise that most, if not everyone does this (even the people you look at and think they have done so much). My advice would be to focus on the things you have done, no matter how small and appreciate yourself for those things. Also, start to work towards the things you do want which doesnt have to be a crazy sprint like for you just downloading a theory learning app for driving and start with that! I think you will find enjoyment in the learning process as coming from experaince the excitement of learing to drive and the goal of getting a licence is more fun than being the desingated taxi driver
