Gcse geog, history, fm plus stat or french

I NEED HELP ASAPP, IM PICKING MY OPTIONS SOON AND AM RLLY STRESSED ABOUT WhaT TO PICKK. I HAVE PICKED TRI[;E SCIENCE BECAUSE I AM A REALLY ACADEMIC PERSONA AND TOP SET EVERYTHONG AND PLANNING TO DO A SCIENCE CAREER IN THE FUTURE(LOVE SCIENCE) SO THAT LEAVES ME WITH THREE MORE OPTIONS, TWO OPEN OPTION AND ONE EBACC OPTION.

FURTHER MATHS PLUS STATISTICS - I WILL DO ALEVEL MATHS IN THE FURTURE, REALLY GOOD AT MATHS BUT DONT FIND IT AS INTERESTING AS THE OTHER SUBJECTS, NOT SURE IF IT WOULD HELP WITH ALEVEK THAT MUCH, NO COURSEWORK OR ANYTHING THAT COOL BUT I GET A GCSE QUALIFICATION IN STATISTICS (EDEXCEL ) AND lEVEL 2 Certificate in further maths SO EFFECTIVELY I GET AN EXTRA GCSE

HISTORY:, RLLY INTERESTING TOPICS (WW11 AND MEDICIN), IM GOOD AT ESSAY WRITING , SAW THE DESCRIPTION AND IT SAYS ITS VALUED A LOT BY UNIS AND 6TH FIORMS , BECAUSE OF ITS ACADEMIC RIGOUR . HELPS WITH ENGLISH TOO

GEOGRAPHY: RELATED TO SCIENCE, I LIKE PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY, NATURE , WILDLIFE, CAN LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD AROUND ME, EASIER , BUT IM SCARED ITS NOT AS VALUED AS HISTORY, SCHOOL TRIP TO ICELAND MANY TRANSFERABLE SKILLS

FRENCH: LOVE LANGUAGES, REALLY GOOD AT IT, FEEL LIKE LEARNING A LANGUAGE WOULD OPEN ANOTHER WINDOW TO THE WORLD, GOOD AT MEMORISING THINGS

SO PLEASE GIVE ME SUGGESTONS ON WHICH THREE OF THESE FOUR OPTIOSN TO CHOOSE TAT BEST SUITS ME THANKS , AND OTHER IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! I WOULD LIKE TO GO TO A BETTER 6TH FORM SO THANKS

HIIII, i picked my options last year and I would say even if you are good at a subject DO NOT pick it if you don't like it because I find if you are not interested in it the motivation gets lost even if you are good at it. You said you wanted to do A level maths I would take it then however you said you don't find it interesting as the other subjects so that wouldn't be good. So I would pick History Geography and French bc u said u really enjoy all those subjects which I feel will help you get better grades as you will be motivated to study. HOWEVER GO WITH WHATEVER YOUR HEART TELL U... U GOT THIS!!!!!

thank you soo much , im just scared when i do alevel maths next year i willl fallbehind but i saw from online websites that the course assumes yoyu are at gcse level so yh ,but further maths will get you an extra qualification so might be useful for a grammar school 6th form i want to go to? And for as level maths? Can i ask what you picked? But tbh i would deffo rather do what i enjoy the most, im just worried about falling behind in a level? Can i self study it?

I did GCSEs further maths (AQA), history (AQA), and geography (Edexcel B). FM is helpful for A-Level maths, as you would cover A-Level maths topics like differentiation. It would be helpful for A-Level FM as well. I’d definitely recommend it for you. Though it may be overlooked as it is not a traditional gcse (it’s a level 2 certificate). My FM gcse doesn’t get counted into my GCSE average.
I’m not sure who told you that history is more respected than geography, as I would say that they are both equally respected. You deffo don’t need to do both geo and history (unless if you want to). History is a good option as you said you’re good at memorising things. However, geography is more scientific. I would also say that it’s easier than gcse history. The one you pick out of the 2 is unlikely to impact you u want to do sciences in the future, so I would say pick the one you find easier (if you find them the same difficulty, pick the one that is more interesting).
Can’t speak on french cause I did a different language. Also, don’t stress too much abt these options bc maths + triple science is the most important gcses for what u wanna do later.

My school is doing fm(aqa) plus statistics (edexcel)so it is actually a gcse and a level two certificate in one , BUt im not sure if its worth it considering im already doing higher maths and other subjects are really interesting imo

I did Spanish at GCSE (didn't have the choice to drop it) and you really really need the passion for it. if you can't find the passion for the language then I wouldn't take it. Having a language however will look good to sixth forms (as I assume you're gonna apply for them based on your options.

I also did triple science (Edexcel), it is so much content!!! Honestly, triple science was something I regretted choosing but then I came out with 776 so I don't regret it too much. You don't need triple science to do it at sixth form or uni, if you have a subject you enjoy or have the option to do a social science (like psychology) maybe try. Obviously, if you're heart set on triple science then yeah do it, just remember that everyone in your class is intelligent at science so you may go from being top of the class to average (like I did)

Whilst you shouldn't worry too much right now if there is anything at university that you are even barely considering, see what A-levels they require and then look at local colleges and see what subjects they require to do those A-levels. It shouldn't affect your decisions too much but some specific courses may require options at GCSE (like art)

Ohhh understood. You don’t need to take it if you don’t want to. It would help with A-Level maths but it wouldn’t give you like a crazy advantage over other students. Also, most people don’t even take it, so you would learn the relevant content in it to a level maths when you’re taught a level maths. What I didn’t note earlier is that it probably isn’t worth taking unless you’re on a guaranteed grade 9 for maths atm, as it’s better to get the 9 in maths than an 8 in maths and a 7 in fm or smth

Hey, I actually take all those subjects as a Y11! I'd say definitely pick geography/ history or both, as having a humanity subject gives you lots of skills. Personally I prefer geography as it feels more relevant and the exams are application of knowledge whilst history is more memorisation & copying things out. Honestly it's sort of up to you what you want to do there.

I take further maths and can also attest that it appears to be pretty useless when it comes to A level. You might have heard of FSMQ/ additional maths which is the level 3 qualification? That is much more helpful imo. Also don't take fm if you're not confident you're getting an 8/9 in normal maths. I've also taken statistics which is fine but eh, I would probably say it's not worth the bother unless you want to do accounting/ finance.

Lastly french - could be good for some variety, I take another language as well which means I get vocab mixed up a bit. For this I would really go off your teachers as it's pretty tricky to teach yourself a language without a good teacher (I had a really bad teacher in y10...)

Anyway overall I'd say geo > history > french & fm

Hii my teacher told me to definitely take further maths because he says it is really worth it and worth two gcses , I am good at maths so probably going to be a 8 or 9, but compared to other subjects not as passionate so not sure, I HEARD FRENCH AND LANGUAGES IN GENERAL MAKE YOU MORE EMPLOYABLE A UNIQUE SET OF SKILLS GOOD AT MEMORISING AND FIND LANGUAGES USEFUL, HISTORY GOOD SKILLS FOR DEBATING, LAW ,POLITICS, VALUED A LOT, GEOGRAOHY, MANY TRIP OPPORTUNITIES, AND RELATED TO WHAT I WANR TO DO LATER BUT MOST INTERESTING IS HISTORY SO IRDK, thanks for yor advicee

I took stats, enjoyed the course, and got a grade 8. It helps if you enjoy maths, (especially for further maths), but stats is surprisingly more writing based than you might think.
Stats teaches you the fundamentals of collecting, processing, and visualising data, and also teaches you to write clear and concise answers, something that benefits other subjects.
That being said, look at subject specs and pick what you'll enjoy.

I would not do level 2 [not a GCSE] Further Maths - pick subjects you enjoy. No uni or job requires French so only take it if you are good.
