what is the accommodation like at uni of sheffield?

i got an offer to study psychology, and i was looking at the accommodation but i'm a bit lost as i've never looked for accommodation before so i'm not sure what to look for/expect. can anyone who's lived in halls/city let me know what it's like/what to expect (especially with shared bathroom vs en-suite vs studio vs deluxe (i can't afford studio or deluxe but might as well know)) TIA

Hi,
Congratulations on your offer!
At Sheffield, the standard of accommodation is pretty much the same across most of the buildings, as they have all been built and then renovated at similar times. Most of the accommodation here is ensuite, which lots of students go for - I went for this too as I was worried about sharing a bathroom with people. But I had friends in shared bathroom halls, and actually it seemed like a better option. There were plenty of bathrooms for everyone, the rooms still had sinks in them, they were cheaper and generally bigger rooms, and the bathrooms were cleaned every week too. So, if money is something you are thinking about, the shared accommodation really isn't a bad option. I wouldn't worry too much about what you choose, as it is mainly determined by the people you live with rather than the place.
Endcliffe is generally the most popular place to live in first year, and I'd say personally Crewe flats is a lovely block of flats.
Is there anything else you were thinking about in terms of accommodation? - social life/closer to city/shops/parks?
I have no idea what the studios are like sorry!
