I messed up my grades real bad + uni application HELP!

Hello, so my grades have not been doing well this year and I've just submitted my application for university.
For context I'm in year 13, I applied for a foundation year in physics and I'm predicted CDD. Yes it's bad I know but I know for a fact I can improve.

My dream uni and course is university of Manchester to study foundation year physics. And for that I need ABB which I don't have.

If I apply now to Manchester, get rejected and then I get my a level results and they're higher than ABB, is it possible to apply through clearing to see if I can get into this course?

Please help, I'm not even sure if I know how clearing properly works too.

Foundation courses are usually not in Clearing - Unis often use any spare places to switch offer holders from the main degree who didn't get the grades.

If you do get very good grades in August, and want to have a crack at Manchester, you could just cancel any place you then hold, take a gap year and reapply for the following year with achieved grades.

You could benefit from taking a gap year as this will allow you to effectively reset yourself and you can reapply if you dont get the grades that you need now.

I've been told by many people that my choices (hull, Lincoln, uclan and Keele) aren't good or worth it for physics. And it's really discouraged me since Manchester's physics department is apparently very good.
For some reason I still applied to Manchester knowing my predicted are not high enough at all. But that's on me tho.

Unfortunately it took me 3 years to do a levels due to bereavement so I don't know if taking another year off will ultimately look good on my application or will help me at all. ☹️ but please do let me know if that's not that case!

With CCD grades you will have limited choices, and you have to be realistic about that.

You're right, definitely. Thanks for your help, I might just end up doing post-grad at Manchester but right now all I want is to get into University.
A quick search suggests Swansea accept CDD

Other options such as York, Sussex might be options for you? Depends if you're able to relocate or not.
