juggling family and uni life

i have 2 young children, one who has just turned 2 and another who is 3 months old. i am about to start ba midwifery with salford university this coming academic year after i needed to defer my start year due to pregnancy. i was curious weather anyone has had a similar situation to myself or knows where would be my closest potential placement. i live in BB5 postcode area and im starting to worry about the time and distance in regards to placements available due to having 2 very young children. will anyone have maybe any advice or information which they can share with me please?

Hey @juliak23. ,

Usually our academic teams try to be as flexible as possible with the placements, meaning that they'll consider things like accessibility from your home location when getting to placements etc. All of our healthcare placements are typically within Greater Manchester so might not be in the Blackburn surrounding area, so I'd definitely recommend dropping an email to our Health and Society School Office to have a chat about the specifics of how things work, as the placements team will be able to go through everything with you. Their email address is [email protected] ☺️
