Changing degree

I am currently doing a levels and relized the course i was taking isnt something i want to do. I am intrested in arts ( leaning to animation) but since i dont have art a levels im thinking of taking a gap year to build a portfolio. Are there any school recommendations that take portfolios and what would help me get in without any art levels.

Look at taking a 1-year Art & Design Foundation Diploma - available at many local FE Colleges and at some specialist Unis. You dont need to have A level Art etc, it will expose you to a wide variety of different art forms / techniques, and you would have the best advice / facilities for your portfolio. Its the most common route to art/creative degrees.

Or, there are UAL Level 3 courses specifically in Animation etc - but these usually do require a relevant art/design qualification and a portfolio.
Examples -
Art and Design | UAL Post-A-Level Foundation Diploma in Art and Design | Level 3 | Brighton MET
Games, Animation and Special Effects | UAL Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology | Level 3 | Brighton MET
Level 3 Animation | Northampton College

This is annoying.

If you have checked the entry requirements for any of the art or creative degree courses, you would quickly find out the majority of them don't require specific subjects. See the top 5 animation degrees that popped up on my Google search results:

What is strongly recommended is to put together a portfolio for your interview.
