Hi @iL1L Have you got any questions about accommodation that we can help you with?🏘️😀 Essex Official Rep- Niamh😎
I do. Which student accommodation would be the quietest and closest to campus for a PhD student? I would prefer to be close to the Squares. The Copse, Quays and Meadows are too far for my liking.

Although The Meadows and University Quays are a 10-15 minute walk to campus, it is a lovely walk and can be more peaceful for studying. Most of the rooms have an ensuite, and you would be sharing the kitchen with 4-12 people depending on your flat. Colchester town is easy to access via the train or bus, if you have a part-time job or want to go shopping or explore the area. 🌳🏡
North Towers and South Towers are the closest accommodation to the Squares, in the middle of everything, so you can wake up minutes before your lecture and still be on time. There would be up to 14-16 students in your flat, so you can study in your room but also meet and chat with your flatmates in the kitchen. South Towers is newly refurbished, but North Towers is quieter. I lived in both of the Towers whilst studying at Essex and I loved it! 🌆🤝
A free gym membership is included in all of our Colchester campus accommodation, as well as a medical centre and 24hr security. 🏀
You can chat to current students on Unibuddy to find out more! 📱
I hope this helps, please let us know if you have any more questions 😊
