Does he like me back???

So he’s been staring at me for an uncomfortably long amounts of time, and this would happen quite frequently, right? And when I would look at him back he’d smile and whisper/update like (I’m not the best at explaining) on what he’s doing. And today we had to pair up with our bench mates for a small project and both of our partners weren’t here today. (He sits infront of me) so he looked around and asked “are you lonely too?” (He has slightly broken humour) and I had no choice but to say yes since I needed a partner and told me to sit beside him. It was a math project so he explained everything to me etc etc. I found it a bit cute but hard to believe there actual signs.

Hmm...Have you tried to talk to him, not about school work but about him. I'm meaning like his hobbies, perhaps you should get to know him first and maybe the signs would add up. Perhaps you should keep a journal and when you find something interesting about him you can write it down and when the right time comes you can ask him if he likes you.
