How hard would it be to change courses while at uni?

I got accepted to a course requiring AAA (my grades are AAB with an EPQ, A in maths). Would it be very difficult to switch to another course once I’m already at university, if the requirements are A*AA? Courses below.

It can massively vary by uni. There's so many different requirements they may have (in addition to having the 'right' grades - the same grades that people applying normally would have) + other factors to keep in mind (if there's space on the course) that it's often going to be a no.

Don't enroll on a course in the hope that you can jump ship and switch to something else later.
Never - ever- start any degree course that you don't actually want to do !

And be aware that if this a potentially higher-grade course, even if there is a space, the Uni will still want the usual entry grades for that course before agreeing to any switch.

On top of the advice given by @mesub and @McGinger, you need to consider what you would do if you asked to change course and your request was turned down. Would you be happy continuing on the course you originally applied to do? Or would you drop out -- potentially wasting your gift year of student finance.

@martin7 Given my current grades of AAB and my interest in potentially switching to a higher entry requirement course, how can I best prepare myself to meet those standards while studying?
