De-extinction?

Hello calling all silence nerds for a debate.
I'm currently writing an essay about Bio-engineering and I came across the topic "De-Exticntion".(Bringing back animals that are extinct.) that is the topic I chose to write my essay on.
Should people use bio engineering to bring back animals that are extinct?/ How far should Bio-engineering go?

I've come across articles on the internet before. About how scientists are working to bring back animals like the woolly mammoths and a bunch of others. I've also seen community threads on that topic. on one side there are a lot of people saying that de-extijnction is unethical and a waist of resources. But others think it's a good idea.

I just wanted to see what people here think of this. and see if some facts can sway me in one direction or another. But more I just want some opinions on this topic.

I've done my research but I personally don't have an opinion on it. but that's the topic of my essay.

So just this is an attempt at participation in a debate about it to figure out my opinion.

It would be very appreciated thank you.

I guess you could learn a lot about the animals which could have useful applications. However I don’t think it’s worth the risk of wasting resources given the issues with global health, climate change and economics of several countries.
