How Lenient is Uni of Liverpool with entry grades?

Hi,

I’ve just recieved a conditional offer to study English at Uni of Liverpool. I’m a bit worried/confused though as the conditions of my offer are distinction & AB. The confusion part is due to my predicted grades being BBC. I originally applied because I really liked the uni plus the UCAS historical grades showed a high percentage of students previously being accepted with BBC (BB + Merit). Some sources online said that i may have recieved an offer due to my personal statement being strong. Just wondering how lenient they are with grades? Don’t want to get my hopes up if I have no chance of getting in. Would aim to increase my BTEC grade however I cannot retake the exam meaning my coursework won’t boost it to a distinction overall.

If anyone has any advice/brutally honest truth i’d really appreciate it! Thanks
Contact Liverpool and explain that a distinction on your btec isn’t possible and ask for their advice on whether they’re likely to be flexible around entry grades in August.

"I'm conscious that you've made me an aspirational offer. Before I start making Firm and Insurance choices can you tell me whether you expect to be considering any near misses for acceptance onto the course, or is this the kind of thing you'd only be able to decide when AL results are released?".

You can also ask them whether they accepted people slightly below the standard offer last year, (they probably did).

I know that they did I spoken to a few people doing my exact course, some got in with BBB, ACD, ACC, ABC etc

I got BCE in my mocks … revision is not looking good so far I want at least ABC

In that case if you like Liverpool then make sure you have an insurance choice that you like a lot too with normal entry grades around the CCC mark…and if you didn’t have any choices around that level in your original 5 choices then book on some open days so you have an idea about options that you LIKE in clearing.
