Also is wider reading useful for history??

Hey, A levels are different from GCSEs as you are well aware so revision is definitely needed.

Thanks for reaching out, what a fascinating combination of subjects, especially the EPQ!!!
What's angle you are looking at Thatcher from?

For History, I have created a mind map for each chapter, I do wars of the roses, international relations 1890-1941 and civil rights in the USA.

These mind maps include all key info, dates, people, events and are usually on 1 A4 piece per chapter.
Then I do active recall where I basically do look, cover, speak to myself and then blurt all the information out onto a blank page from memory.

A friend uses Gizmo as do I which is useful for flashcard revision, it is an easily downloaded app. Quizlet is also a popular one.

And of course practicing essays is always a sure fire way to improve and ask your teachers to mark them.

Hope this helps )
Sorry me again, yes wider reading can be helpful you could even make notes whilst reading to ensure it's worthwhile

Thank you sooo so much for the advice . In terms of the mindmaps I find it difficult to summarise the content as I feel everything is important 😓😓😓 (one of my teachers gives us a HUGE A5 sheet every lesson and i feel as if I need to know every detail and i get overwhelmed 😬) HOWEVER I will try this method and stick to like an A4 or A3 MAX to avoid overloading information .
In terms of the EPQ i meant to say that my history Coursework is on Margaret thatcher apologies !! Im not sure what question im doing yet .
In terms of my EPQ i am stuck if I should do it on a law related topic or not . I have until next Friday to decide 😞 For a law related topic I am thinking of either :
Should children be allowed to appear as a witness in court and what impact does it on them psychologically ?
Or
Should the media be allowed to report on court cases while trials are ongoing ?
Or
How effective is the ICC and the UN in genocides ? With focus on the Bosnian genocide

Hey, personally as a year 13 i found past paper questions really good for A level chemistry although my exam board is OCR. I found a lot of the questions tend to be like almost repeated, like they ask for the same things majority of the time also having like model answers for questions like these help so much and also mind maps. If there's any particular topics you struggle with, I'm happy to try and help 😊

No problem at all! Best of luck with the mind map, I hope it's useful. I completely get the feeling to include every bit of information. Just try and think about you writing an essay and the best 2/3 pieces of evidence to use and then write that on the mind map for each main question/content point.

History coursework, yes ofc, that's very interesting. I'm doing mine on the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

EPQ topics, ooo they all sound sooo interesting!
For the media and court reporting, today journalists are allowed to report in all family courts more openly. Which could also be an interesting avenue to explore.
Out of the 3 possible choices I really think the ICC and UN is fascinating

Hello, yes I get what you mean. Unfortunately I'm having the same issue but comparisons of success and difficulties can be useful for the different groups. I find this helpful for the depth studies as well. Just ensure that you have enough niche examples for the depth studies. But I'm sorry I can't be more useful
okay thank you
