Am I being realistic?

I'd like to study politics (maybe + econ) at university. I've made similar posts in the past asking if I'd be likely to receive offers, and taking advice given, I've been revising my options. I currently study econ, politics and sociology at A level, and my current attainment sits at A*AA (A* in politics), and, providing I achieve these grades in my upcoming year 12 mocks, I would hope to be predicted these grades (or higher). However, I wouldn't be surprised I get AAB in the mocks and predicted AAA or similar. Below are the courses I'm considering.

- Durham, Politics, AAA
- Lancaster, Economics, Politics and International Relations, AAB
- Lancaster, Politics, ABB

I'm currently unsure of 4th and 5th options. In regards to other aspects of an applications, I believe my extra curricular activities are actually quite strong, I won't share much else info as I'm not too sure how the plagiarism checker works for personal statements! But my only qualm is with my GCSEs (I kinda did no revision), and ended up with six 6s and five 5s, mediocre to say the least. Therefore, is it realistic of me to consider these courses?

as long as your GCSE grades meet any specific minimum requirements (usually in English and maths) you'll be fine and its the predicted A level grades they will be interested in. Your options above are entirely realistic, good luck with your studies!

Yes they do, for the Lancaster econ course It's a 6 in maths and a 4 in English (I got 6,6,6 in Maths, lit and lang) and for the Durham course + the other Lancaster course there are no specified requirements.

That's reassuring, thank you!
