Uni of York Interviews

Hi! I’ve been invited to interview for uni of york for ‘business of the creative industries’, it’s not clear what this actually entails but i was looking for some advice on what will happen/what they are looking for. they’ve asked that i think about ‘recent developments in the creative industries’ and anything that interests me in this area which i have good knowledge of but any tips?? Anything is helpful thanks!!

Your interview letter should have included details of what to expect from your interview, but here are some suggestions of questions you might be asked to help you get started with your preparation:

Why do you want to study Business of the Creative Industries?

•

What makes you a good candidate for this course?

•

Are there any recent developments in the creative industries which have been particularly interesting to you? (Eg, a production you enjoyed, a news story you think is important, a live performance you attended)

•

Why was this development interesting for you?

•

Do you have any questions for us? (This is your chance to find out anything you want to know about the course, and what the course and the University has to offer you)

I expect you'll also be asked about things you've mentioned in your personal statement, so I'd suggest reading it over before your interview to refresh your memory. You could also take part in our free Supporting you with your university interview course, which is delivered through Future Learn. We also have some interview tips on our website and you can check out our students' interview tips on our blogs page.
