Lifeguarding with Glasses
Hey, I am thinking of becoming a lifeguard however I need to wear glasses as I am very short sighted (-4.5 and -6.5 prescription). Is this still a good job idea? How can I best do the job with this issue?

There are prescription googles that you can wear. You can wear your glasses and if you are fast enough wearing the googles you can only wear them when you have to enter the water.
I'm an optometrist and I have fitted such googles for lifeguards. I've also used them myself but didn't really like how they feel on the face. I only wear them if I go to the sea (large area full of people and unpredicted rips... already had a bad experience with that)...
