adult nurse 1st placement delays due to OH report

Hello i have had my 1st nurse placement delayed due to occupational health physician errors in my initial updated report as i had a change in circumstance with health slightly. The error came from the wording which was a total error on their part.It has delayed my placement for 3 weeks.I come off placement on 3rd of march. How do i catch up if cleared ? any advise welcome as technical wise it was not my fault ?I wont start back until at least 12/2/25 earliest ? any advise welcome ?

hiya, i'd recommend talking to your course leader/tutor, however i believe the NMC says that if you miss hours, it's up to you to catch them back up by going in on different days where you can. i was sick the first week of my placement so have just had to pick up extra days to meet my hours. hope you manage to get it sorted😊

Hi Peter

Any missing hours must be made up in your own time.
Speak to your university course leader and placement officer to discuss with you in how you can make them up. They will arrange somewhere for you to go to for this, you can make the hours up by doing it at weekends while you are at university studying, or doing extra days during your next placement or do it during any holidays you get. You have to complete all the hours before you complete your 3 years coursework ( 2300 hours placements, and 2300 hours of university studying and practical - total of 4600 hours) to satisfy NMC regulations for your nursing pin 📍.

Speak to them about it soon as possible okay.
