Hello. I got accepted in both Warwick (MSc in Behavioural and Economic Science - Science Track) and Glasgow (MSc in Behvaioural Science -Business Track). Which is the better choice academically and career wise? Warwick is much more expensive than Glasgow but higher in rank. I am worried about job opportunities.

Hi there,
Although league tables and rankings can be helpful when choosing universities, I would honestly say that they don't matter as much as you think. Both Glasgow and Warwick are great universities, so a degree from either of them is going to set you up well for future employment!
I'd recommend focusing on other things to make your decision such as which course content is more suited to you, which city you'd prefer to live in, what clubs and societies they offer that interest you, which has better facilities, etc. Ultimately it is these things that are going to dictate your student experience, and therefore your academic performance, more so than rankings. In my experience I've loved Glasgow because of how lively the student life is, with a great campus, loads of opportunities to get involved with extracurriculars and clubs, and a great location in the West End, with everything I could want on my doorstep.
Hope this helps and best of luck with your decision! Elise, 2nd Year Student Rep Mechanical Engineering, BEng

Hey thank you so much for your input! Could you please tell me which has the lower living cost?

Hi there,
Honestly I'm not sure with living costs as I've only lived in Glasgow, but it's definitely cheaper than the likes of Edinburgh. To give you a rough idea, most people I know pay in the range of £500-700 per month per person for rent. Obviously this can be higher or lower depending on area, size of flat etc. I pay around £50-60 a month on utilities, and then choose to shop in budget stores like Lidl for my groceries. As it's a very student filled city there is lots of bars, cafes and restaurants with good student deals/ prices, and the student unions offer affordable food from breakfast to dinner, as well as cheap drinks in their bars.
All the best, Elise, 2nd Year Student Rep Mechanical Engineering, BEng Elise
