I was wondering if anyone needed someone to do a part time
job in Edinburgh or had any recommendations because it’s pretty hard getting one right now.

Try fast food places, They take on a lot of students.

Try to apply to local independent shops first and foremost to see if they want anyone to help them.
Then apply to places like Asda, Argos, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrisons and other retailers with apple through there own website.
Boots the chemist are always looking for staff ( part-time to full-time permanent position - you'll have to apply via there own website
Other places are McDonald's, KFC and burger king.

By the way the main job recruitment periods for retailers are generally Christmas and new year ( they start the process of job advertising from end of August/ beginning of September and start staff early on so they are trained up by the busy ime and continue taking people on upto end of November beginning December on temporary contract with possibility of permanent position ☺️) Easter time ( from middle of February to early march ) summer time ( End of April onwards) but do recruitment in between those times.
