Will I be able to study Sonography with a Biology Degree?

For context, I am currently studying Biology at Bristol University. The degree includes no human biology, only animal biology. I thought I wanted to work with animals but now I am thinking of being an Obstetric sonographer.
I heard that there are 1 year courses you can complete after getting a degree, but it just says the degree has to be in a “health related field” so I don’t know if a Biological Sciences degree would count, especially because it is so animal focussed.

Sorry you've not received a reply sooner. :s-smilie:

The traditional route to become a sonographer is to take an undergraduate degree in nursing, midwifery, diagnostic radiography or therapeutic radiography and then to work in that field to gain experience before applying for a sonographer role. There is a lot of competition for songraphy vacancies. If you wish to pursue it, you could consider a pre-registration masters in radiography. This is a condensed two-year version of the undergraduate course. Pre-reg masters usually attract undergraduate funding so you could apply for both tuition fee and maintenance loans.
