pharmacy interview help

I'm a bit worried for my pharmacy interview. I got one from reading and medway next month. I didn't really get much work experience in general, I only done some online course or something in pharmacy and healthcare. so I feel like I don't have much to say in terms of what steps I've made that made me pick pharmacy and why etc.

1. Learn the 9 standards set out by the gphc for a pharmacists and how to apply them 2. Learn the four corner stones of ethics (beneficence, non maleficence, autonomy and justice) 3. have a good look over the specific MPharm course for that subject so you can answer why that university ( I used chat gpt to pick out the best points, but look at facilities course structure future prospects placements ect) 4. For “why pharmacy” it’s best to kind of tell a story of how you found pharmacy, you can start broad with science and helping others than narrow down to how you found out pharmacy is different from all other health subjects

Good evening,

It's great to hear you have been selected for an interview. I wish you the best of luck!

The University of Reading has a webpage dedicated to Interview Information and Preparing for Interviews. It's a great way to ensure you know what to expect.

Similarly, there is a guide to the interview questions that may be asked. They are not the exact questions you will be asked, but they help to see what questions may be asked.

Additionally, there is an interview thread here where prospective students can talk about their worries or provide each other with key tips. There are also some interview tips from university ambassadors.

Not everyone has the chance to gain work experience, and this is not a crucial part of your interviews; you can use any relevant knowledge and any approaches you may have taken to help you make your final course decision.

At the University of Reading, there is an ambassador scheme via unibuddy, where prospective students can message current uni of Reading students. There is an MPharm 2nd-year student who I recommend you message. Her name is Athena, and you can find her account here. She will be able to give you an inside perspective on the pharmacy degree and answer any questions you may have about the course.

When I was applying to the university, I found it very helpful to attend an Open Day; however, for students who live far away or do not have access to an Open Day, there is a Virtual Tour, which prospective students can look at from their homes. I highly recommend you have a look at the Virtual Tour; it provides an insight to the campus.

I wish you the best of luck in your interview and remember to be yourself.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

All the best,
Ella
