It is notoriously hard to get good volunteering/medical work experience after covid, so chances are slim. As well as this, many ask for you to be 16 or over, so this might set you back further.
What I would advise is emailing the local GP's, Hospitals, Hospices and care homes, telling them of your interest and enquiring about availability. Alternatively, you could search your family for any doctors that could give you work experience where they work.
You still have loads of time and you don't actually have to worry about this until you are closer to application (year 12ish time before application in year 13) so for now I'd advise focussing on getting top gcse grades which will open so many doors for you.
Best of luck!

You both are worrying too early 🤣 You should be set on getting good gcse's instead of medical work experience as even if you do manage to get some, you won't know what to do with it because you'd probably forget it far before getting an interview 3 years on.
Best of luck all the same.

we are required to apply for work experience in year 10 as well. i don't know if it's done that way in his school but that's how it's done in mine.

From my experiences and contacts with medical school interview boards, one of the things they like to see is evidence of genuinely wanting to help people, with a good bedside manner.

A good example...volunteering in a care home visiting residents for a prolonged period of time, so it's good you're starting to look for experience now! The more experience you can get the better, a year plus would be very beneficial. A care home in my area allowed me to volunteer when I was 15, but all homes will have different policies.

This is just an example, there are many opportunities out there. Just remember though, interviewers and assessors love to see a genuine dedication to helping people, with good bedside manner.
