feeling guilty for not revising

I dont know if this feeling is normal but i didnt do any revision today and i feel really guilty and a bit worried because exams are coming up soon and i dont really have time to be taking random days off. And also because this week i havent actually started doing any general revision for my exams as i was revising for my biology test.

idk if this feeling is normal but is it okay to take days off revision? whenever i do i feel guilty .

I feel like this feeling isnt normal because i am revising its just that i could take an odd day off and not do any revision

Hi there!

First of all, what you're feeling is completely normal, many students feel guilty when they take a day off revision, especially when exams are coming up. But taking breaks is actually really important for your productivity and mental well-being!

It sounds like you’ve been working hard already, especially focusing on your biology test. That still counts as revision, so don’t be too hard on yourself! It’s totally fine to take an occasional day off, in fact, breaks help your brain absorb information better. Studying non-stop without rest can lead to burnout, which makes it harder to retain information in the long run.

Instead of feeling guilty, try to plan your revision schedule with built-in breaks. If you know you have rest days scheduled, you might feel less anxious about taking them. Even something simple like a half-day off or a few hours of relaxation can help you reset and come back more focused.

If you’re worried about losing momentum, you could also try low-effort revision on rest days, like listening to a podcast, watching a revision video, or reviewing flashcards. That way, you’re still engaging with the material without feeling like you’re overworking yourself.

Remember, consistency matters more than intensity. You don’t need to revise every single day to do well. Trust yourself and the work you’ve already put in! Taking a day off won’t ruin your progress, but burning out before your exams might. Be kind to yourself, and good luck with your revision!
