Aiming for 8’s and 9’s

Hiiii,
I’m in yr 11 here are my grades from December mocks, I didn’t revise for anything but maths for context and my predicted next to it

AQA Lang 6B / 5
AQA Lit 8C / 7
Edexcel Maths 6A / 7
AQA triple Bio 6B / 7
AQA triple Chem 6B / 7
AQA triple Phys 7B / 8
AQA Fr 9C / 9
Edexcel B Geo 5B / 7
Edexcel A Re 5B / 6
AQA Sociology 6B / 7

I need advice/revision techniques/websites/ resources on how to improve my grades to grade 8’s at least because of the 6th forms I’ve applied to and their minimum entry requirements being grade 8’s. My main focus is science and maths but the rest are equally as important. My teachers say that I know the content but when I write it’s not clear what I’m trying to say so I loose marks. They say that I misunderstand the question and write too much and run out of time and that I need to understand how the examiner wants to see on my paper. And for geography I struggle with natural geography (I got a 4 on that paper and a 7 on my human geography) and for sociology I struggle with crime and deviance. Oh and for English literature I struggle with a Christmas carol to some extent (I got 20/30) and Love and Relationships.

Firstly, you've done really well, well done! For the core subjects (especially maths) bang out as many questions as you can. Do all the PMT topic questions. The best way to revise is to practice. Do timed essays for all your essay subjects and make a little plan for your essay structure so you know what to write and what each paragraph will be based on. For bio, phys and chem Cognito worked REALLY well for me to absorb all the knowledge. For the sciences it's really about hitting the keywords especially with Bio because you do get marks for them.
