Academic misconduct questions

I have always been through anxiety problem every time after I submit assignments due to the fact of some time I see posts about academic misconduct being accused and stuff, I had a question, when would you be receiving the academic misconduct email from uni when they suspect you of anything, if is before the grade releasing date or is it holding your grade and emailing you afterwards?

Don't over-think. You won't be accused of if you haven't done.
Not to share your work with anyone, even after submission. If your work, or part of your work appears somewhere, it will generate doubts on plagiarism.

Hi there,

I know it can be stressful submitting assignments - I had a friend who had particularly bad test anxiety whilst at uni. However if you have not done anything you weren't supposed to then you won't have anything to worry about. As long as you A) haven't put your essay online anywhere, including into ChatGPT for checking, B) allowed friends to see/copy anything you've written which is not a reference, or C) copied whole sentences/blocks of others' work online, then you will be fine. There is Turnitin threshold that unis will typically look for, because it is expected that people will often use many of the same references, but if you have done your work honestly then you have nothing to be afraid of.

I hope this helps, best of luck with that assignment and try not to worry about it 🙂

Hi, let me give you some tips on how to avoid academic misconduct cases;
1. Always cite your sources, especially when information isn't general knowledge.
2. Use quotes if you've copied word for word in your assignment, and cite.
3. Don't share your work with anyone.
4. Never use AI to write your work, may be to get ideas and organize your thoughts but NOT to do your assignments.
5. Get a premium Turnitin to check your assignments for plag or AI before uploading, just to be sure.

Hope this helps.

Hi!

The chances are that if you have received your grade and feedback and nothing has been flagged to you, there are no issues, so try not to worry! If you are really unsure or this is a continuous worry for you, reach out to your module lead or academic tutor for more specific, tailored advice.

Hope this helps! Faye 🙂

Hey, I totally understand how you’re feeling, and you’re definitely not alone in this. A lot of students experience anxiety after submitting assignments, especially when they see posts about academic misconduct. But if you’ve done your work honestly and followed the guidelines, there’s no need to worry!

To answer your question—universities usually contact students about academic misconduct before releasing grades if they suspect anything. The process can vary, but in most cases you would receive an email from the university asking you to attend a meeting or provide an explanation of your assignmnet before any final decision is made
.
So, if you haven’t received any emails before results day, it usually means everything is fine. For more Information you can always check your uni’s academic integrity policy or ask a lecturer for reassurance.

I hope this helps you.
