should I be worried?

I’ve sent away my ucas application on the 18th of dec and have not heard back yet. I know it can be a long process as there’s many other people to consider however I’m feeling anxious as others in my school have gotten at least 1 offer. I know it depends on how fast the departments work in the unis. I applied to University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Callie with 5 different courses. I’m relying on my higher spanish and higher sociology this year however I also qualify for widening access but i’d rather not rely on that as i want to show my true potential. I’m currently sitting with 2 As and a B.

And I’m hearing in school if the universities you’ve picked have not sent an offer yet then it should be just forgotten which makes me even more anxious. The courses I’ve applied to are quite popular aswell which may also be another reason but I’m panicking.

Hey! Don’t be worried, I also applied to strath and glasgow callie at the start of January and I have not heard anything back. UCAS deadline was today so hopefully they will start sending out more offers now

of course! Best of luck!☺️
If it helps for now- I sent my UCAS off the week they opened for entry in 2024 (I believe it was October 2023), I didn't get an unconditional offer from Strathclyde until towards the end of February. I'm sure you've probably heard it already, but the universities do have until the middle of May to respond and the timing is not reflective of your strength in the application.

Hi Anon 🙂 Just to echo what's being said in the thread here - there's no need to be anxious about this right now (although I do appreciate this is easier said than done!). Universities will still be considering all their applicants at the moment, and until you hear otherwise you're still being considered for a place. Other unis and courses will make offers in different ways - so it's normal if other people have maybe started to hear back but that doesn't mean anything negative for your own application.

The equal consideration deadline has now passed, so our departments will be making their way through applications over the coming weeks. We do receive lots of applications each year so it may take some time - try not to overthink at the moment. You've done everything within your control and now can focus on any additional study you'll need in S6 in case universities are making conditional offers 🙂

Good luck!
