saltwater place plymouth

i’m looking into booking accommodation since i’m entering uni of plymouth this september. was wondering if saltwater place is far from the uni since ive seen people saying astor house is far, and based on google maps, saltwater is even further. would like to know some insight!!
Hiya! 😊 As this isn't an official Plymouth accommodation I wouldn't have the knowledge/advice to give on this specifically, but I would say that location is an important factor to consider. You want to ensure that you're not too far away from campus (which is why I loved staying in Francis Drake halls on campus- just 2 minutes from most buildings!), whilst ensuring there is plenty around you, like shops and amenities etc.

I would say Plymouth is a very walkable city and I rarely have to take public transport or drive, but you'll want to consider how far you'll have to walk/cycle/bus ride every day into university at varying times of day.

Best of luck and if you have any questions about the university or halls, feel free to reach out! 😄

Hey there!

I stayed in Francis Drake for my first year and absolutely loved my time there. They are clean, modern, and regularly maintained. They had a fairly recent refurbishment just before I started at Plymouth and I have never heard of any issues with cleanliness etc. Shared spaces are cleaned by cleaners once a week (shared kitchens and shared bathrooms) and bedrooms are student's responsibility to maintain. The maintenance team are always on hand and are really great when helping with any issues, forgotten keys, or questions.

If you have any more questions about Francis Drake feel free to reach out! Would definitely recommend as a great first year accommodation because of its close distance to lecture halls and sessions on campus! 😄
