2025 UCL the Bartlett interview

Has anyone received an interview invitation from UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture? If so, when did you submit your application and portfolio, and how long did it take to receive the invitation? Also, could you share your predicted or achieved grades?

(For those who haven’t been invited to an interview yet, could you let me know when you submitted your application and portfolio, and what your grades are?)

I submitted my UCAS application in late December and my portfolio two weeks ago, but I haven’t received an invitation for an interview yet. I’m nervous because I don’t know the percentage of applicants who get invited to an interview. My IB predicted grade is 40, and I’ve also applied to Manchester, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Nottingham, and the AA, but I haven’t received any offers yet.

were you asked to submit a portfolio by manchester? also, i submitted my ucl portfolio in mid december and still haven't heard anything back, judging from everything i see online i think they just take a long time responding so try not to worry i guess :,)
i received my portfolio request 3weeks after i applied to manchester. (2weeks after they confirmed they received my application) have you activated your manchester account yet? idk if that makes a difference.

also the portfolio is submitted through blogger (search "manchester portfolio blogger" and you'll be able to see examples) they simply ask me to provide the link to the blog post by sending an email to "[email protected]"
you might want to send them your portfolio anyway(?) (can find detailed guidance here: https://www.seed.manchester.ac.uk/architecture/study/digital-portfolio/)

and I think you're right about ucl, there’s indeed tons of people who applied earlier than me still waiting to receive their interview invitations
i guess ill just have to wait lol

About 20% of people get an interview, by the way. Then 11% (roughly) get an offer.

I had my interview last week, applied in mid October with A*AA predicted grades. If you submitted in late December, don’t sweat it. They have until May to keep interviewing. They are still interviewing people that applied in October/November.

Good luck

I’m a bit confused about your question tbh, not too sure how to apply as a private candidate but I can’t imagine it’s that different. You make a UCAS account, then there’s a space to input your pending grades, along with everything else. pay a small fee to send it off. Again, not too sure about how it differs as a priv candidate.

short. Goes by so quick, that was my second Ucl one so I guess it wasn’t too bad. 2 male interviewers, 5 minutes to go through my entire portfolio, then 15 minutes of questions. Interviews are 20 minutes and mine finished by 20.36 (recorded it). So they’re pretty strict with time. If you don’t finish explaining your portfolio in 5 minutes they will cut you off, btw. Nothing extraordinary tbh if you’re well prepared you’ll be fine.
I submitted early in October due to the Cambridge deadline. The Bartlett invited me to interview in December on the same day as my Cambridge so I rescheduled to January. I just received my offer two days ago with the condition being for me to take an English qualification exam (IELTS). I’m an American student so my courses are only a year long and I’ve met the academic qualifications already. I also have a friend taking IB waiting for his interview, good luck!

i applied towards the end of november and received an invitation for an interview in december. I took my interview in january and received an offer less than a week later. My predicted grades are A*A*B (in maths, physics and chemistry respectively). My achieved grades were a bit lower than that. I still havent firmed or insured any uni. I have also applied to the AA and have not yet received an offer

Can i ask what subjects you take and what you got those predicteds, and how your portfolio was like was it mainly drawings, paintings, sculptures?

Where the questions you were asked in those 15min about your portfolio or architecture in general? Were they very difficult to answer? How was the overall atmosphere of the interview? Thank u so much:smile:

the questions were a mix, but mostly about architecture in general. it’s not a quiz on your knowledge of architecture but rather your perspective on it. not too difficult to answer if you prepare well. atmosphere was great and interviewers were very nice, feels like a conversation rather than an interview tbh but depends on who you get as you’re interviewer.
