They can be very useful. You can work to save money for uni, or you can travel, for example. If you're just sitting at home doing nothing then don't bother, but if you have a plan for your gap year then definitely go for it.

Opinions on gap years
Hey there @riasaccount 🙂 Taking a year out of university can be helpful in putting things into perspective and figuring things out. I am currently on my placement year at have really enjoyed my experience in industry as it has allowed me to to explore what working in industry is like as well as enabling to meet new people and build connections. Alternatively, you may also want to consider doing a year abroad or just taking a year off uni to recalibrate. What are you plans for a gap year?
