Do a practise paper and mark it (Or use an example of a mock you may have recently done) and analyse what the reason for each time you lose marks is, eg. is it because you couldn't remember the content?, is it because you made an error in a calculation?, is it because you used the wrong equation?, is it because you knew the content but were unsure how to use it to solve the problem?, etc. Make a tally of which how many marks you lose for each reason. From this you will have a better idea of what you need to focus on to gain more marks.
Hope that helps.
If you discover a significant reason for losing marks but are unsure how to reduce this, feel free to post another question on here asking for advice on that specific area

majority of the time it is "is it because you knew the content but were unsure how to use it to solve the problem?" or not knowing content that i can fix but the first one im lost

sorry for taking ages to reply.
That is probably the hardest reason for losing marks to improve on. Doing more practise questions may help you to recognise the steps often needed. My top tip though is to make a start on the question even if you can't think how to make it all the way to the final answer. Write down what you do know and think about what you can work out using what you do know and what's given in the question, then look at what you now have and think how can that help me to get to the answer, and repeat. Or, sometimes it's helpful to think backwards, focusing first on what it is you need to work out, and thinking what would make it really easy to solve if you knew, then think about how you could work out those things.
Most importantly though, it is always good to write down what you're thinking even if you can't work out how to bring it all together to solve the problem and you'll likely pick up some marks.
Hope that makes sense and maybe helps too!
