I have almost finished my portfolio for 'design for film and television' and the assignment also asks for a piece of writing in the form of an essay/report and I just want to clarify for peace of mind lol that it means it wants me to give them a piece of writing ive done in my a level recently so for example an answer to a media studies question. Or am i wrong and does it want me to write about the undergrad course and make an essay/report up to 500 words

Hi, I also applied to NTU but for their Animation course which also wanted a 500 word essay. I'd say search up specifically for the film portfolio as I found a document outlining what they wanted for the animation one. I wrote 500 words about my work I included within my portfolio and received a conditional offer (for 2025). If you're unsure, emailing the university will help

Hi @sash.22001,
It's great to hear you've applied for our Design for Film and Television course!

For the 500 words portion of your portfolio, you absolutely can include any recent work you feel is relevant. The main purpose of this is so we can get a sense of how you write and communicate ideas outside of the images and work in your main portfolio. It can also be a new piece about what inspires you or about a specific piece of work or practitioner that is influential for you.

We have more information about Design for Film and Television portfolios here as well.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
