While I don't go to Newcastle Uni, hopefully I can help, and I'm sure @Newcastle University can provide some extra information here.
I'd strongly recommend you take a look at their 'Chat to a Student' page if they have one, or UniBuddy. This is such a great way to be able to talk to current students, and allows you to ask any questions you may have a course, course load, specific activities, and student life.
