Bulgaria 2025

Anyone going to study medicine abroad? I thought of Bulgaria. Should I go to Varna (beaches, but smaller city etc.) or Plovdiv?
I am from England. Any experiences?

The thing I got is that there are agencies that help you with the process. Is it worth it? I want to go to Plovdiv!

honestly you're better off going poland or slovakia for UPJS - having to find your own dental patients is a major killer as well as learning bulgarian and latin language

Why latin???

honestly im not sure- i think its for learning medical terminology. Note not many other medical schools in europe or for the uk for that matter bother with it since its useless. Extra language exams are typically a killer

There's a new Medical University in Bulgaria in Burgas known as 'Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov'. It's beside the beach. Because its new, their facilities and main Medical building is much better quality than in Sofia, Varna etc. Sofia Medical University is quite old but although they have been around for quite a while, you would expect them to get better buildings and facilities. Unfortunately their campus is very bad and not in a nice condition to be studying in. I currently study in Burgas and honestly because the Uni is new, the standards and teachers are really good and as I said before, the buildings and campus is much nicer/modern.
