Marine biology and Plymouth grades

Hi everyone I’ve applied to study marine biology at Plymouth for 3 courses , it’s my top choice ! I have been accepted for all but need BBB or ABC with a B in biology , this is my weakest subject , does anyone know if they’re lenient at all with grades when it comes to result day , as I don’t see myself getting a B or should I be looking at other options ?

Heya 😊 As this sort of thing changes year by year I wouldn't want to say one way or another! But from my experiences, the marine/biological science subjects are popular but never too over-subscribed so this might be something worth asking our admissions team [email protected] or our marine biology student/staff member on our Unibuddy site who might have a better idea!

Clearing is always a good option to research if you're unsure of what your results day outcomes might be so I'd recommend checking out more information on this here as many courses will likely have availability, which could also mean lenience with entry requirements across some courses (subject to discretion).

Another option is always foundation years too, which are often available through clearing and allows you to access the course you're looking to study with an extra year built on with lower requirements.

My advice would be to chat with our admissions team/staff/marine biology student rep (above) who will likely have a clearer idea on this, try to research all options ahead of time and consider all situations, and work hard to achieve the best you can in your exams 🙌

Best of luck and feel free to let me know if you have any more questions! 😄
