as already mentioned - they don't interview. Probably they were waiting for the UCAS deadline on 29th Jan. I hope they start sending offers before the results are published.

Thank you - very similar. Am trying to forget about Imperial but after so much effort it's hard not to be hopeful. Wish you the best of luck.

I emailed the admissions department and they said offers will start to be made at the end of Feb/start of March. No interviews. They say they take a holistic view of your application, so predicted grades/achieved grades, personal statement and ESAT are all considered together. So if your ESAT doesn't seem brilliant that doesn't necessarily rule you out.

I know it's quite daunting to wait, but we need to remind ourselves that these offers are somewhat holistic and if scores are above average they give admissions an understanding that an applicant can cope in their environment. Which may be enough tbh. So maintain hope and I wish everything works out positively for you!

I'm sure they'll look at those too.
Good luck all

Not specifically but I’m sure they are considered as part of this “holistic” approach.

Holistic approach is the official line of every university. With no interviews at Imperial for physics, I personally feel that ESAT score will carry lot of weight- I mean it will be hard for them to justify not making an offer for someone with high ESAT scores when they meet the other minimum requirements. What is a high score for Physics at Imperial is unclear though, because ESAT is required for multiple other courses at Cambridge and Imperial- so all high scorers won’t be in the race for the physics course.

Totally agree with your points here.
Also - all low scorers won't be in the race either...
I've noticed a number of very low maths scores for other courses. When these are removed the positions will also shift. Could go either way - who's to know!?!!!
As a borderline ESAT scorer (expecting rejection) and home student the wait (from October) is very hard, especially without having any other preferred firm yet.
Have much sympathy for everyone in a similar position.

Agree- low scorer’s also won’t be in the race. Difficult to estimate where the borderline is- could be anywhere between 4 & 6. This being the first ESAT and first time Imperial are not doing their own assessment tests, it is anyone’s guess.
