Not in this current job market baby ☠️

I'll not make a comment because I don't spread misinformation online.
What course will you transfer to when you realise law is the most boring degree and has nothing in common with Suits or Better Call Saul?

You think it’s boring because you’re a pretentious knob. Why would I expect my life to be like an American TV show? pack it up Meredith Grey. You’ll be on that average 30 grand salary with the rest of the general public and your colleagues lol

Out of curiosity, why would they require all 5 to be sat in one year? I understand about first sittings (ie no resits) and the academic challenge element of taking 5 highers, but it makes no sense if it was based on academic challenge/difficulty not to accept a combo of highers and advanced highers

I'm not sure, sorry.

Worst case scenario, you can always apply to the gateway courses, but defo get in contact with the unis and see what they say

For someone that wants to make a career out of winning arguments, you aren't making a very good case.
Consultants in the NHS earn upwards of £100,000 yearly, and if you thought it was at all about money in the first place, you would again have been misinformed.

I don't know why you are trying to involve yourself in this, other than the fact you could also be a prospective law student.
If you spend your life chasing money, you'll end up as empty as everyone else.
This person couldn't admit they were wrong, so now we are having a friendly discussion.

True. i got in touch with UofG admissions team so hopefully they respond soon. I hope it will be OK as I really want to do medicine, and it seems unfair to reject someone because they took an AH instead of a 5th higher in S5; to me that shows more academic dedication and is also more challenging. if it is a definite no though I will consider the gateway to medicine course or postgrad entry, but the GEM would be less ideal as i'd probably spend my whole undergrad waiting to get out to do med lol. fingers crossed; I'll also ask my guidance teachers about this as I can't be the only one in this position in my school!

He’s just being aggressive bc he’s got a superiority complex over doing medicine. You’d think he was going to Oxbridge with the way hes acting lol

Hey! I’m picking my subjects for s5 and am doing 4 highers and an advanced higher in art. I emailed all the medicine unis (Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh, not St Andrews because they explicitly state on their website they’re fine with it) last week and have received a response from Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee so far all saying that they would except an advanced higher as part of the subjects taken in s5! They did also all note that you would still need to achieve AAAAB (or AAABB for Dundee) in s5, and the fact that one was an advanced higher wouldn’t make a difference and would be seen as the same level as a higher if that makes sense (you would still ideally need an a). Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your help! That is a huge relief. So would they see a B at AH the same as a B at H? I thought that an advanced higher B was equivalent to an A at higher.
