Neuroscience is what i'm passionate about.. Medicine?

Hi I'm a year 12 who's a little lost on where to begin with trying to build my eventual medicine application. I thought of doing neuroscience as my course but found myself at a bit of a dead end because jobs afterwards weren't particularly what I was imagining i could do for the rest of my life. But with a medicine degree so much is opened up and I've found a particular interest in Neuroradiology. Not to mention I think my gcse stats are pretty low. I had my own personal reasons for them and i underperformed but now i think its only going to disadvantage me. I have no doubts in myself for getting 4 As at AS level, high predicteds and hopefully a privately entered french Alevel as i'm a native. I think I knew deep down that a medicine degree would have been needed but i think i was put off by how competitive application is, UCAT and getting work experience. Where do I start? does anyone have any book/podcast/youtube channel, supercurricular, work experience, recommendations? any and everything helps
Thank you so much

Hi, I’m applying to medicine this year and am also interested in neuroscience and neurology!

Your GCSE stats can help boost a low UCAT score when being shortlisted for interview, but if they are low it is not the end of the world, there are a few unis that don’t score GCSEs when shortlisting for interview. As long as you meet min requirements you should be fine.

I would recommend by starting by getting work experience. Save UCAT practice until later months e.g after your end of year tests.

I would recommend the book Do No Harm for neurosurgery/neuroradiology.
