I’ve also emailed them so hopefully we should hear back soon

Sorry to be pessimistic but why do I feel like it's just a standard error for everyone - like an offer is just their way of saying 'we've told them our decision' instead 'you have been a successful applicant.' I got an offer for psychology from Sunderland but I never got a tick next to offer so...

i was thinking this too but the person that actually ended up getting an offer is also on my mind. i just wish they’d actually respond to to our emails :/

"Your application was rejected for the UCAS reject by default date, at present we have not contacted you to confirm we are in a position to offer you a place via the waiting list.

The screenshot below ‘offer’ does mean a decision has been made on your application this is the rejection for the UCAS deadline"

I got the same email, though it doesn’t really address the “offer” tick. I’d still have some hope.

My daughter got an offer today. Seems she has to go through ucas extra to accept. So I’m worried about her not having a plan b ucas choice.

Great news. Congratulations to her!

My D received UCAS rejection yesterday morning . D also saw the tick on the portal last night , which was confusing as below also said rejection. D got a formal offer this morning and now awaiting ucas to update. It has been a challenging few months . We are over the Moon . Hang in there and your offer will definitely come through !!

Massive congratulations! Let me know if you have any questions about all things medicine!

Thank you Ellen,

We would like to know how many weeks we should be booking for accommodation as a first year medical student ? The standard 40 weeks or more ?

Hi. Has anyone got any offers in the last week?

I don't think anyone would get anymore offers from Sunderland until results day. Sunderland will contact you if they have any spaces left on the course due to people not meeting their conditional offers or choosing another university.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure its 46 weeks for medicine, but I would recommend checking on either the website or getting in contact with the university on [email protected] or calling them on 01915153000

Hope this helps,

Ellen

DD is just finishing 1st year - last exams next week. Just to flag that term likely starts on 8th September!!! She is in uni halls for the standard 40 weeks. She has had a brilliant year but there is lots of work. (And lots of play!) Quite a few of her friends got in via the waitlist after results day so don't give up everyone!!

Hi there,

It depends I think. You might hear when everyone has finished firming their offers, and then the next time will likely be results day.

I hope this helps,

I know this is a useless thing to know but over 200 people were invited to be on the waiting list
How did you get that information?

Roughly 21 - 22 people could be offered a place thorough clearing this year

from sunderland? but why would they go into clearing.

Reply 156

I hope those who were on the wait list got an opportunity to join

Reply 157

Sunderland representatives were at my sons school on result's day and definately no places offered through clearing.
Newcastle uni went into clearing for medicine on result's day, so did a few others.
