exeter uni

Hi! I currently have an offer for Exeter uni and I really loved it at the open days. I am just a bit worried about the posh reputation it has and that many people are rude/ there is lots of discrimination etc. Would be very grateful if anyone who is studying there now or recently studied there etc had any experiences of this or what their uni experience at Exeter was like?
Also what are the job prospects like after uni?
Thanks so much

Hi E2007C,

First of all, congratulations on your offer from Exeter! But, please don't be deterred by stereotypes - at the end of the day, you will meet a wide variety of people at university, all from different backgrounds. There is no tolerance for discrimination of any kind here, and ultimately, everyone is super friendly. You will 'find your tribe' - it is entirely dependent on who you surround yourself with. I was pretty worried that I would be a black sheep, but I settled in very quickly and found myself amongst like-minded people who I am proud to consider my closest friends. For reference, I come from a working-class family in North West, but I genuinely find that demographic doesn't matter - I have never once been discriminated or been treated differently in any way; I am really happy here. Whilst, yes, I don't fit the "stereotype" in any way, it has never once affected me, and to be honest, most people don't pay any mind.

In terms of job prospects, our graduates are really well-sought after - we have one of the highest employment rates in the UK. And, our Career Zone is super helpful in helping you secure a job post-graduation!

If there's anything specific you're really worried about, please do reply and ask anything!
