Hello! I am doing higher history this year and I just can’t get the evaluation marks. I keep trying but keep failing! Does anyone have any suggestions or examples to get me going!
Thanks

That depends on being able to get 18/22 on the essay. Also for the assignment you are maxed at 25/30 provided you write perfect essays. How would you suggest to do the conclusions? I only ever get one or two marks at a time.

So, as above, evaluation is only worth 4 marks so you can still get 18/22 without it (82%)
If you really want to do it though, I can help. I got 22/22 in the essay in my prelim so I'll help explain.
The reason why evaluation is so hard is because it has to be new information. This means that if you have mentioned it anywhere in your knowledge, analysis or analysis+, you cannot get the marks if you just repeat it in your evaluation.
It is basically just another point of analysis+ for the factor, but it can't have been said anywhere else.
For sustained evaluation, all you have to do is link it to whatever you said was your most important factor and say why your most important factor is more important. This just needs to be an explainer as to why, not any new new information.
I can give examples of what I mean, but we probably don't do the same issues so it might not make sense.
Best of luck!

Hi! I did higher history last year and got an A so hopefully I can help! try and use up any extra knowledge marks and pick anything that can relate two factors. for example one of my essays last year was on women's suffrage and two of the factors were 'examples in other countries countries' and 'the first world war'. one of my evaluations was that Germany had universal suffrage in 1871 and the war ended in 1918 (when the vote was given to women) and because of the difference in time the war would have a greater impact on when the vote was given.
sorry for the long answer but really just find literally anything that connects two factors (my favourite was always timing) and explain how one could have more impact. hope this helps and I'm happy to answer any other questions!

if you have any sources left over from your assignment just put "additionally, this might be the most/least important factor as _ states that _. works for me!

That's interesting! Does it count as a knowledge point or evaluation? How do you remember your quote or do you not fully remember it and hope the marker doesn't check?

it counts as evaluation if you are saying why that factor would be more/less important! It would be quite hard to memorise them to be honest and not very useful if your assignment question doesn’t come up, sorry not much help but for essays in class it should do for now i guess lol!
