Hi.

I have been reimbursed for a special support loan from my academic year 2019 after sending in a cover letter and evidence.

But the reimburmsnt has been sent to the bank I used at the time I had in 2019. And not my most updated one.

As this is a closed bank account and I can’t get in touch with the bank. What happens now. Will it just bounce back?

Hi Oliver,

If the account is closed it should come back to us but this depends on the bank. It normally can take up to 10 working days, but it depends again on the bank sending this straight back. If you contact the bank, then they can advise if they have sent it back.

How will I know if student finance have received it back. As this is a reimbursement from academic year 2019. So I don’t have any payment schedules to check the status etc.

If you can't view your payments online, then I would suggest leaving it 10 working days. If you haven't been sent any paperwork after this then contact us and we can check if we have received it back. Might be worth while contacting your old bank to query this also and help speed up the process.

Hi thank you.

Am I right in thinking I have done this right. I have now submitted a cover letter to my online account to change my bank details for that academic year to my updated bank details.

I would suggest you call us if you can't update the bank details on your online account on 0300 100 0607. We're open till 7pm tonight.
